Improving Multi-Objective Optimization Methods of Water Distribution Networks

Water distribution network design is a complex multi-objective optimization problem and evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs) such as NSGA II have been widely used to solve this problem. However, networks get larger, struggles find the diverse uniform solutions that are critical in optimization. This research proposes an improved version of uses three new-generation methods target different regions Pareto front thus increase number regions. These include saving archive, local search around extreme uncrowded front, knee area front. The tested on benchmark sizes compared best-known determined by MOEAs. results show proposed algorithm outperforms original terms broadening solution range, increasing density, discovering more non-dominated solutions. can cover all parts using single without computational effort.
